Patience to Perfection

Patience to Perfection
2014
Glass, Wood, Chain
36in. x 8in. x 5in.

Sitting silently with a fishing line cast waiting for a bite may take hours. It takes patience to catch a fish that is large enough to keep. There are a lot of small nibbles that cause excitement but, it is the big ones that you value to bring home. The process of improving a skill takes a similar kind of patience before you begin seeing progress. There are many small victories a long the way yet, again it is the final product of seeing real improvement that is the most gratifying. The fish sculpted here were made about a month apart from each other documenting the steady improvement being made.
